Teaching a project-based introduction to the user experience design process, oriented toward practical methods for approaching a design problem. The focus of the course is to develop conceptual designs based on the needs of users. Students learn user research methods, design sketching, design evaluation.

Microsoft Research Cambridge
Research Intern , June 2012-August 2012
Explored the design space of smartphones as remote controls. Methods included demos, design tasks, and follow-up interviews with ~16 UX designers at Microsoft or industrial/HCI PhD students. Data included sketches, quantitative counts of function locations on designs, and interviews.

Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)
Research Assistant , November 2010-January 2011
Conducted interviews and in-home observations of 20-somethings to learn more about behaviors revolving around TV watching, focusing on social dynamics and technology use. Video recorded observations; edited video and described each clip. Analyzed qualitative data (transcripts, field notes, video).
